I had a great experience with BLUE MOON ESTATE SALES. From the outset, they were responsive, receptive and accommodating, taking care to meet with me at times that fit around my work schedule. To be quite honest, the house was crammed with a lifetime worth of collected, curated items and household goods, and I thought it would be a Herculean task to price and stage each of those items. But Karen and her team were unfazed and confident, doing exactly that — and all in only 10 days (or less). As I walked through the house the night before the estate sale, I was extremely impressed by the manner in which everything was staged and presented. The marketing for the estate sale was also brilliant, placing many pictures and descriptions of the items on a website promoting upcoming sales, leading to around 15,000 site views in the two days leading up to the estate sale. On the day of the sale, the line stretched for half a block! Over the course of two days, approximately 500 to 600 people attended that sale, and about 75% of the items in the house were sold. In short, it was an extremely successful estate sale, by all measures. Karen Braun and her team are like a well dam-oiled machine. It is obvious that they all work very well together and work very hard to ensure a successful estate sale for their clients. 10 Questions About Having an Estate Sale Answered by the Pros

Do I need to rent tables, display cabinets or clothing racks?

You can leave the entire setup to us. We have tables and display items ready to go. This ensures a professional presentation of the estate’s belongings, which can impact customer interest and overall sales. Additionally, our setup maximizes space and creates a smooth shopping experience for your guests.

If the executor lives out of state, can we still have an estate sale?

Yes! We can handle everything via phone, email, fax, and/or good old-fashioned mail, and can also assist if you’re working with a local realtor or lawyer. We understand the challenges of coordinating an estate sale from afar. Our team will keep you informed throughout the process and can develop an inventory breakdown post-sale.

What other services do you offer?

In addition to helping individuals and families downsize and relocate by expertly planning, marketing, and conducting estate sales, Blue Moon can connect you with a service to clear out any remaining unwanted items.

Should we remove anything from the home ahead of time?

Do not throw out seemingly unusable items, even if they are old. Some items are surprisingly valuable, even with damage or wear. We request that you remove any personal paperwork and effects from the home. This includes birth certificates, social security cards, driver’s licenses, passports, military documents, bank statements, pay stubs, medical bills, family photos, prescription drugs, and the like.

What should I expect at our first meeting?

The in-home consultation gives us the opportunity to meet, gain an understanding of your needs, and assess the overall value of the contents of the estate. We will then determine whether or not an estate sale is in your best interest.

Is there a charge for the initial consultation?

Our initial consultation is free of charge. This allows us to understand your needs and answer any questions you may have before you decide to move forward with our services. There’s no obligation to book a sale after the consultation.

My family members and I would like to keep certain contents of the estate. How should we handle this?

We ask that you and/or your family members remove any and all items that you would like to keep prior to our initial consultation. This allows us to conduct a thorough assessment.

Should we sell or pawn anything beforehand?

Absolutely not. Pawn shops and cash-for-gold businesses will only offer you a fraction of what your items are worth. You’ll get far more money selling your items with an estate sale.

There are some items we want to keep, but we do not want to remove them from the home. How is this handled?

Any items that you would like to keep in the home need to be secured in a certain room or within an area of the home that can easily be sectioned off from the rest of the sale.
