Meet the Owner, Jason Smith

Jason Smith, owner of Blue Moon Estate Sales of San Mateo and San Jose, California, brings more than 20 years of experience in the tech industry, where he built a reputation for solving complex problems and developing strong customer relationships. With a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and a master’s degree in data analytics, he blends analytical thinking with a people-first approach. After two decades in tech, Jason discovered that what he valued most wasn’t just the technical work. Instead, it was helping people. That realization, paired with his hands-on nature, led him to launch his own handyman service. 

Later, helping his mother downsize showed him just how meaningful it can be to support people through emotional transitions, and he decided to bring that same care and clarity to estate sale clients. He genuinely enjoys collaborating with clients to find the best solutions for their needs and believes great service is about trust, empathy, and professionalism.

Jason takes pride in being the calm, capable presence families can rely on during major life changes. He understands how overwhelming downsizing, relocating or managing a loved one’s estate can be, and he is committed to helping clients move from stress to relief with thoughtful guidance and practical support. Known for his resourcefulness and collaborative spirit, he approaches every project with precision, patience, and reliability.
