Meet the Owner, Erik Merickel

Erik Merickel, owner of Blue Moon Estate Sales of Chattanooga, TN, brings a blend of technical experience, curiosity and care to every sale. He spent most of his career in IT, working across corporate, manufacturing and government settings, where he saw both the right and wrong ways to support people and processes.

Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in English (writing), as well as advanced certificates in computer security and infrastructure. With a blend of creativity, problem-solving, and precision, he’s skilled at deconstructing objects and ideas alike, then rebuilding them with greater purpose and efficiency. Outside of work, he enjoys board games, blacksmithing and cider tastings.

Motivated to build something purposeful while helping others, Erik was drawn to estate sales because every day is different and every home carries a story. He believes the items people collect reflect the history of their lives, and he is committed to treating those belongings with the thoughtfulness and respect they deserve. His goal is to guide families through life transitions with care, clarity and sincerity.
